If you have a picture of yourself  doing something we might be interested in seeing, please send a photo of yourself and whoever else is engaged in what ever,  hobby, charity, community project etc. Use your imagination and let the rest of the members know what you are interested or involved in. Local 294 would like to  Honor our Service Men and Women.
Local 294 is proud of our fighting men and women, especially any of those who are members or related to our members. If any of our members has an immediate member of their family serving with the armed forces, and would like to see their name and photo posted on our Military Page  let me know. We would like to honor our service men and women with a page all their own. Please send me a photo if available their name, rank, branch of service, their relationship to you and where they are serving.  We would also like to include pictures of our members who have served in the past, either in war or peace time. So if you are a veteran please send in your picture. Please include the information posted above and also the years you served.

Obituaries

 

Alvin R. Weeks 

(Dorn's Mechanic)

Weeks, Alvin R. CASTLETON Alvin R. Weeks, 78, died suddenly January 24, 2012 at Albany Medical Center. Born in Hudson, son of the late Alvin R. and Louise (Girard) Weeks. He graduated from Hudson High School and served in the US Navy during the Korean Con(flict. Mr. Weeks was a mechanic with Dorn's Transportation in Colonie for many years. At the time of his death he was a custodian and bus driver at the Maple Hill Middle School. Mr. Weeks was a member of the International Machinist Union, Teamsters Local 294, and CSEA. He is survived by his wife, Louise (Hyslop) Weeks; daughter, Susan; and son, Michael Weeks; his brother, James (Dawn) Weeks; and his sister, Audrey Braker; also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Kenneth E. Weeks; and sister, Elizabeth Caparaso. A Memorial service will be held Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 3 p.m. in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., 490 Delaware Ave., Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may call prior to the service from 1-3 p.m. Those who wish may send contributions to: The Schodack Central School District, 1216 Maple Hill Road, Castle-on-Hudson, NY 12033 in memory of Al.
